At every new harvest, our Ancient Trees manage to surprise us with flavors we had never experienced before. Harvest 2023 is no less remarkable: despite the drier season, this cake has a unexpected maturity of flavors, and does not generate any astringency.

The lack of rainfall always tests the ability of our tea master and especially his shaqing skills, as a lower degree of internal moisture in the leaf may lead to burned spots. The enveloping sweetness of the very first brews proves these delicate leaves weren't harmed by the scorching coal fire of the wok, and the familiar vegetal taste of the subsequent brews assures that natural fermentation will further stimulate their complexity in future years.

This cake bears the story of our centuries-old tea trees, and their ability to translate climate into taste: together with a great sweetness, similar to that of another dry harvest, 2020, a floral bouquet emerges, and a delicate fresh hue lasts in the palate: in its subtleness, in its complexity just hinted in the aftertaste, we find an elegant Sheng pu, that leaves us wondering about which surprises its future maturity will reserve us.

Our tea production

This tea comes from the tea forest we own in Yunnan, in Nannuo and Lunan/Pasha mountain.
We take care of each leg of the production: from the care of the under-forest until package and distribution.

Generations of masters

Our production is entirely supervised by Yan Kunli, that was born and raised on Nannuo mountain, and in 2007 won the Pu'er Shengpu producer competition for the highest Shaqing skills, among all the Hani minority in Yunnan. He is the master in his craft, and we are proud to have him with us.
