2022 Laoman'e Shupu - Stone pressed Cake
We encoutered these leaves in a pleasant stop of our neverending tea-journey, sitting at the table with its Tea Master talking about past, present and future of shupu tea. In these leaves we found the best of many generations, the knowledge of the past and the bold spirit of young skilful hands.
Aromatic, meditative, with different layers of bitterness and roundness. This 2022 Laoman'e shupu will be with you throughout your day for many brews, each time disclosing new herbal and botanics nuances, with prominent notes of walnuts and cacao beans in a thick and full body.
Laoman'e is situated nearby Bulang mountain, where Pu'er tea is characterized by a strong bitter flavor. This terroir, and the centuries-old ancient trees that grow there, at an altitude of 1600 meters, normally give a peculiar astringency and a richer concentration of amino acids, which results in a bitter aftertaste and a light minerality.
The tea leaves were harvested in Spring 2022 and stone-pressed in December 2023 in 100 gr. and 200 gr. collector's formats.
